Vegan Lunch at Frida's St. Louis

Vegan Lunch at Frida's St. Louis

Frida’s is a vegan dream with options for whatever you’re feeling and the ambiance to transport you there.

Located in University City, Frida’s is a vegetarian and vegan restaurant that seriously delivers on taste. Full disclosure: I am not vegan, but my close friend is. Since she is used to these restrictions she is generally much less picky about vegan food than I am. So this is definitely honest, but given with a grain of salt. I will say that Frida’s earns a top spot in my book for overall selection for all types of diets.

Honestly, the menu is a huge draw to this place. Varied and reasonable, you’ll find salads, sandwiches, and sweet- potato fries, but also build- your own pizzas and burgers. Being an oil free, and plant- based restaurant, the menu includes a helpful key for figuring out the specifics. The lovely, yet casual, servers begin by bringing a fruit infused water for the table. The first time I was there I had the taco salad and the second time I had a falafel. Both times the plates were flavor packed and generoulsy portioned (that picture shows the half portion salad!).

The drink menu here is simple and perfectly executed. On my first visit I had the vodka cocktail, then next time I tried the hibiscus margarita. Both were so good I had seconds. I so far I tried two things on the menu, the taco salad with sunflower seed taco meat, and the falafel. Both were vegan options, however I did add feta to my falafel. These dishes were packed with flavor and very filling.

I really enjoyed eating at Frida’s and found myself there twice before the week was up! I can’t recommend it enough.
