A Peter Rabbit Easter Egg Hunt

A Peter Rabbit Easter Egg Hunt

I wanted to do a little post about our Easter Egg Hunt this year because it ended up being so cute and too easy not to share!

We are not a big Easter family and usually only do one Egg hunt in our small backyard with just cousins and grandparents. Last year, I hid the plastic Play-Doh filled eggs and it was a hit with Clarice for months after as she got around to opening all the different colors.

Something I did last year that wasn’t a big hit, however, was the Peter Rabbit book. We put the classic Beatrix Potter tale in her basket, but she wasn’t ready to be entertained by an little bunny’s near death experiences yet. I packed it away in a spare toy bin thinking I’d try again the next year.

During one of our toy rotations she ended up rediscovering the book, and suddenly she seemed to find Mr. McGregor more silly than scary. The book became a fast favorite, and when it was semi-destroyed in a painting accident, I knew it had to be replaced.

I ended up getting her the board book set that included Peter Rabbit and a few of the other classic Beatrix Potter stories, Two Bad Mice, Jeremiah Frog, The Flopsy Bunnies, and Benjamin Bunny. The set of board books had the vintage illustrations and I love reading the original text out loud- great exposure to different vocabulary for Clarice and makes me feel all proper and British!

When I saw that Meri Meri had an entire line of Peter Rabbit Easter party supplies I ran with the theme and it ended up being simple and adorable for a low key party.

I used the Meri Meri Peter Rabbit Concertina Card as a centerpiece for the dining table and on the mantle . I filled little bud vases with dried flowers to round out the spring theme.

On the table I added some Peeps and chocolate carrots, ladybugs, and bumblebees. I wrapped the Peter Rabbit card around the flowers as a makeshift centerpiece.

The Meri Meri Peter Rabbit In the Garden Cupcake Kit comes with the paper baking cups and little character picks to insert on top. I made the cupcakes the night before and Easter morning Clarice helped me ice them and stick in the picks.

The Meri Meri Peter Rabbit In the Garden Garland came pre-assembled (except for attaching the 3D carrots) and I used command hooks at the ends and a few mini spring wreaths from the Target Dollar spot to hide the hooks.

The Meri Meri Peter Rabbit & Friends Egg Hunt Kit came with these stakes and signs. They were so darling and included all the major characters. They stood up very well in the ground and with a quick wipe down will definitely be in good shape to use again.

My personal favorite decor element was the Meri Meri Peter Rabbit In the Garden Egg Decorating Tattoo Set. They were a little trickier than your standard temporary tattoos because you had to deal with the curve of the egg- so toddlers would need help with the process and the patience needed. It was great practice for gentle hands though. I also got the roll of Peter Rabbit mini stickers for Clarice to play with, and those worked decently on the eggs too.

Overall, it all came together so easily and I loved the style of everything I’d purchased to use. I was able to focus on having a nice day with our family and enjoy the activities Clarice wanted to try, and that made the extra expense of buying premade decorations totally worth it. baby boy is due next month and with everything else we are busy prepping and the physical toll of the third trimester, this made having a little party feel like no big deal.

I definitely recommend using a set of Meri Meri themed party supplies anytime you are too pregnant to DIY or just need to throw together something simple with pretty and thoughtful details. The quality is amazing and the paper products are durable enough to be reused.
