Cocktail Hour at Herbie's

Herbie’s in Clayton has become a favorite spot for cocktails this summer.

The aesthetics European chic, and even sitting on the sidewalk patio feels very Parisian.

The cocktail list is nothing short of killer. I’m not huge on gin, but can enjoy a classic gin and tonic if im in the right mood. But the first cocktail, seasonal to the menu, caught my attention.

I ordered the Mint Condition and immediately worried if I would be able stop after two.

Made with Pickney gin, fresh watermelon juice, fresh lemon juice, mint syrup, and cava, this was the ultimate summer taste combination. Fresh, sweet (but offset by the sour lemon), and bubbly perfection.

After a couple drinks we split a Beef Wellington entree, and honestly the food is as good as the drinks. Though it is a splurge, Herbie’s is definitely worth a stop in for a little or a lot.
